New Essay in FunHouse

Hey world! I have a new essay in FunHouse! One of my favorite magazines, and I’m there beside Charlie Fox– a guy whose book I deeply admire. I write about the medieval romance and queer silence…a natural combination if there ever was one…

You can order a copy (and a poster!) here.

Book Review at WWB

Thank you to Eric Becker and Matt Seigel at Words Without Borders for publishing my review of Ursula Andkjær Olsen’s Third-Millennium Heart, translated from the Danish by Katrine Øgaard Jensen. These poems are gorgeous and I am lucky to know them.

Short Story in Italian Lit Mag, VersoDove

verso dove

I am so honored to be featured in VersoDove, translated by the amazing Marilena Renda (who also translates Anne Carson) and beside so many talented writers. Thank you also to Vito Bonito who invited me to take part in this issue of one of Italy’s finest and longest running lit mags. I’ll have copies available for you Italian readers soon!

Art Essay in 3:AM

I wrote an essay on the work of Flavio Favelli, one of my favorite contemporary artists, over at 3:AM Magazine. It’s a hybrid of theory and personal, a hybrid I ardently believe in. The piece is about illness and aliens and death, but also memory and object.

After sharing the essay with him he invited me to check out his new work-shop in Venice for the Biennale. See you in Venice next week!
